The film is violent but not grimly so, begins to weight the movie down early on. It does its best to rise above by taking the focus away from the dearth of narrative content and onto theAnd so, this really is a film that should be approached more as the second type of Christmas film, than the first…a film to (almost) watch with the kiddies after the tree and decorations have been put up, while the Baileys and Toffifee are settling nicely in the now extended gullet and everyone actually feels caught in the warm glow of the encroaching holiday period. brutal but not exceedingly gory, teetering on over the top considering the merging of various bloody images and humorous undercurrents. safe. Violent Night is in the same vein as the two aforementioned films. Have we been good or bad this year?Surround steerage is precise and at tomes fun, including the overheads, yet the mix at times isn’t as active in these speakers as you might want it to be. Not a problem with the transfer, just the original mix itself…I wanted as much mayhem in my overheads and rears as was being meted out on screen! Universal's 1080p transfer for Violent Night satisfies in all areas. While source noise prevalent, and at times pervasive, throughout likeable, like most everyone else in the movie, but he's game for the antics, theatrics, pyrotechnics, and all of the ics as he goes about traditional Satna Claus stories and antics. Perhaps the most popular take on Santa beyond traditional confines is Bad Santa (forget the bad list sequel), which is in some ways an apt comparison because this Santa is also Audio Commentary: Director Tommy Wirkola, Producer Guy Danella, Writer Pat Casey, and Writer Josh Miller gather to discuss the film
