The gaps between the body and the wing flanges are a little unsightly - exposing the Technic bricks as they do - and not altogether necessary, since the flanges do not need to lift beyond horizontal and indeed will flap around if the ship is inverted. Any any kid I know, there were two stars of this movie… Uni-Kitty and Benny, so it’s always nice to see her in a set. You can kind of fit him on top of the dish area, but the build for our pirate buddy doesn’t make him easy to put… well, anywhere. Wyldstyle's seat is raised a little higher to allow for the join between aircraft fuselage bases; I think she'd choose this seat.

Benny is great, too—my little brother got him in the Sea Cow, but it'll be nice to have one for myself.Unless you can point out a clear instance in the review where a link to another site would be better served by a similar link to LUGNET, I don't see why reviews like this should need to reference that site. This is an excellent time to comment on the stickers, which are present I think more for the Classic Space reference than because they add to the model; you can compare to the set without stickers here or here. Some mention that they're easy to follow, while others say that they are very complicated and take a lot of time to put together. But Wyldstyle tells Benny he can't build his spaceship right now because the skies are surrounded by the SSP Dropships. Bought this for my newborn son when he turns 9 (LONG wait, but I doubt I will find this in 9 years).

I grew up with Space Legos as a kid in the late 70's and early 80's, and really no Lego sets since have been as "cool" to me (not even the Star Wars UCS sets that are pretty darn nice). I can say that with sincerity since I don't remember ever owning any CS sets with the blue color scheme, so it always looked odd to me. Emmet, in his hilariously unconvincing disguise as Robo Emmet, has silver muck all over his face and a little on his feet, but most exciting I think is his Piece of Resistance - that weird 1X1X2 brick with a hole in the side - which comes in Flat Silver [BL]/Silver Met. Benny's spaceship is a homage to the original: it is rather more a modern take on the old classics; perhaps what TLG would have produced today had the Blue Era line miraculously continued to the present. Benny's Spaceship definitely references this by having yellow as the main colour chosen for "filler bricks" on the interior of the model, and in a couple of points on the exterior.You covered everything it was really enjoyable to read, I have to say that seeing the Space Wyldstyle fig on yoru pics already sold this set for me (not like I wasn't aching for it already ), she is beautiful and I love that CS motif in the painting The ship itself is also outstanding and it's great to see so many play functions without making the ship look like they are squeezed in. A UCS-style stand would work, but if given a choice I'd plump for retractable landing gear, which would help to disguise those ugly Technic blocks which are all-too visible under the wings. The ship just about squeezes on to the front of the glossy box; not helped by the enormity of the LEGO Movie logo which obscures part of the model. I love the Trans-Yellow elements but may or may not have preferred the 1x4 trans-yellow panels to be bricks, but as I was not heavily into the classic space sets at my age back then (never liked the classic helmet), it doesn't really bother me, and the panels may provide useful if I ever decide to make a MOC. The shape is admittedly less easy to discern from the top, but you do get to see how each section of the ship bulks out progressively front to rear.
